biography:
Orenda was founded in Evansville, In. in the winter of 2001 by drummer Victor Birkle and singer, songwriter Denise Dill. With the hopes of creating a new original sound, Denise and Victor invited bassist Nick Turpin and singer, songwriter Summer Rodel to one of their practices. When the four began jamming, the chemistry was instantaneous. From that day on, orenda became a working band of original music.
Orenda is slated to begin recording their demo in May and all of us on BIRTHFEST are extremely excited to have them performing with us. |

1. If you were stranded on a desert island what five c.d.'s would
you need in order to survive? 1. "Little Plastic Castle"- Ani DiFranco 2. "One Love"- Bob Marley 3. "Beyond These Crowded Streets"- Dave Matthews Band 4. "Make Yourself"- Incubus 5. "Catalyst"- Namaste (Although it isn't out yet, Namaste never disappoints me.)

3. If you had to spend on one meal for yourself, what would you eat? As much as I can buy at the grocery store and throw a party for all my friends!
4. If you only had to spend on one meal for yourself, what would you eat? I would eat from the $.99 menu at Wendy's.
5. If you could have a "love child" with one other person on BIRTHFEST who would it be and why? It would be Steve Sandleben, and why not. ;-)
6. What is your favorite book of all time? "The Bell Jar" - Sylvia Plath
7. Other than music, what is one thing that you enjoy doing with your free time? Hanging with my 5-year-old sister discussing the purpose of blue.
8. If you were an animal, what would you be? I would be a Siberian Tiger.

12. If you were in the movie "Pulp Fiction", what charcter would you most likely play? How about "Trainspotting"? "Pulp Fiction" - Samuel L. Jackson's character; "Trainspotting" - Ewan McGregor's character
13. Who would be your dream date? Ben Affleck or Ewan McGregor
14. What is the craziest thing that has happened at one of your shows? Sick-o-fest, and I think that is all I have to say about that.
15. What is your favorite drink (alcoholic or non)? The Snapple Element Meteor
16. Name one thing that not many people know about you that you would like them to know? I can put my legs behind my head.
17. What is your most embarassing moment? Nothing embarasses me!
18. Give one word that describes your existence? Harmony
19. If you could change one thing about the world, what would you change? I would teach others to be more understanding of differing views.
